Parking Areas on Campus

All parking on campus is allocated and signed for specific uses. Parking regulations are enforced and permits are required 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the interest of safety and public relations, some restrictions are reduced after 5:30 p.m., weekdays and all day on weekends when there are fewer vehicles on the campus. During those times, visitors and University constituents are encouraged to use the parking lots closer in , except for 24-Hour Reserved Spaces.

Garage Parking
There are 4 parking garages located on campus, the West Parking Garage, the East Parking Garage, the North Garage, and the South Parking Garage. Each garage has the capacity for at least 1,300 spaces.

The South Parking Garage is located on Gemini Boulevard South across from the Recreation Services Complex. The South Garage contains 1,279 standard spaces, 5 disabled spaces and 16 motorcycle spaces, for a total of 1,300 parking spaces. The South Garage houses' the Parking Services Main Office.

The West Parking Garage is located on the Northeast side of the Education building, has 1,276 standard spaces, 24 handicapped spaces, and 14 motorcycle spaces, for a total of 1,314 parking spaces. The West Garage houses the Parking Services Auxiliary Office.

The East Parking Garage is located on Gemini Boulevard East adjacent the Engineer parking lot. It also has 1,276 standard spaces, 24 handicapped spaces, and 14 motorcycle spaces, for a total of 1,314 parking spaces. There are no office facilities inside the East Garage.

The North Parking Garage is located at the intersection of Orion Boulevard and Gemini Boulevard. It has room for almost 1,300 cars. There are 1,286 standard spaces, 5 handicapped spaces, and 12 motorcycle spaces, for a total of 1,298. Students need a student decal to park in this garage or they may obtain a daily parking pass for $5.00 at the various machines located in each parking garage.

Like all other facilities on the campus, the garages require parking permits. If a user does not have a regular permit, $5.00 daily parking permits are available from the various yellow permit machines inside each garage. Two such machines are located on each level of all garages.

Daily parking permits allow parking in any student surface parking lot as well as the garages. They may be obtained from Visitor Information Center located on Gemini Blvd. across from Millican Hall.

Meter Parking Return to Parking main page
Parking meters are located in some high-demand areas to facilitate short-term parking. There are a number of metered parking areas on the campus. The largest is the Visitors Parking Lot across from Millican Hall where 12 meters are located. The fee for parking at these meters is 50 cents per half hour with a maximum time of 30 minutes without repaying the meter.

There are a total of 16 meters in the area of the Live Oak Room. They are 1-hour maximum and as noted are 50 cents per half hour.

Anyone can park at a meter on campus; however, the meter fees must be paid. The meters accepts coins only. Vehicles displaying a valid, current State Disability Placard may park free in metered spaces.

The respective time limits are noted on each meter. The meters will continue to accept coin, even after the maximum time limit has been reached. Therefore, regardless of the amount that you may deposit, only the maximum time designated by the meter will be available.

Due to 24-hour operations of campus, meters are enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If a meter malfunctions and will not accept your money, you should re-park at a different meter and report the malfunctioning meter by calling the UCF Police Dispatcher at (407) 823-5555. Please try to identify the exact location and meter by the number located on the meter post.

Parking at a meter that you know to be malfunctioning may result in an "Overtime" citation.

Please Note: The $5.00 daily permit is not valid in any meter lot.

Surface Parking
There are 14,879 parking spaces on the UCF campus, including those located inside the parking garages. The remaining 7,800-plus spaces are located on 30 surface parking lots of various sizes and configurations throughout the campus. More than 6,000 of these spaces are designated for students. Over 1,300 spaces are for faculty and staff, and the remaining spaces are comprised of spaces for service/loading, 24-hour reserved, and the disabled or handicapped.

Most of the surface parking lots are paved. There are some, however, which are not. These are designated "temporary" parking lots and are identified by the number of the lot preceded by the letter "T". The temporary, or "T" lots are future building sites that include possible parking garages.

To keep them usable, maintenance of the unpaved lots is expensive, but a priority. To pave them prior to building on them would be more cost-prohibitive. Eventually, as the campus grows, it is expected that most if not all of these lots will disappear, and all of the University's parking facilities will be either paved or structured (garages).
